What We Believe
The Word of God
We believe that the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is God’s complete and divine revelation to humanity and serves as the final authority for faith and Christian living. The Bible consists of the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17
God
We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are equal in nature, power, glory, and perfection, and each is fully worthy of our worship, obedience, and devotion.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 John 5:7; John 14:10, 26; 2 Corinthians 13:14
The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God the Son, who became fully human. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross at Calvary as the sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day.
Scripture: Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4
We believe that Jesus Christ came into the world to reveal God and to save sinners.
Scripture: John 1:1, 14, 29; Romans 5:8
Through His death on the cross, Jesus accomplished our redemption. As the Lamb of God, He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father, where He continually intercedes for us.
Scripture: Acts 1:9–10; Romans 8:34
We believe that Jesus Christ will return visibly and bodily to the earth to establish His kingdom and reign as King.
Scripture: Zechariah 14:4–11; Revelation 19:11–16
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. From the moment of salvation, He indwells every believer, regenerates them, baptizes them into the Body of Christ, and seals them until the day of redemption.
Scripture: John 16:8–11; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Ephesians 1:13–14
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the divine Teacher who enables believers to understand the Scriptures and equips them with spiritual gifts to serve God and one another.
Scripture: John 14:26; Romans 12:3–8
Humanity
We believe that humanity was created in the image and likeness of God. However, because of Adam’s sin, all people inherit a sinful nature. Every person is born sinful and is incapable of pleasing God or restoring themselves to a right relationship with Him through their own efforts.
Scripture: Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:22–23
Death
We believe that death is separation rather than annihilation. Physical death is the separation of the soul from the body. Spiritual death is eternal separation from God. Every person born into this world experiences physical death, but those who have not been born again also face spiritual death. Those who have been born again through the Holy Spirit will experience physical death but have eternal life with God.
Scripture: Genesis 35:18; Revelation 21:8
Salvation
We believe that salvation is entirely the work of God’s grace and is received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is made possible through His sacrificial death and the shedding of His blood, not by human effort or good works.
No religion, personal achievement, or good deed can make a person righteous before God. Salvation is found only through God’s grace by placing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Scripture: Isaiah 64:6; Ephesians 2:8–10; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9–10, 13
Assurance of Salvation
We believe that every person who has been born again is eternally secure in Christ. Believers are saved, kept, and preserved by God’s power and can have confidence in their eternal salvation.
Scripture: John 6:37–40; John 10:27–30; Romans 8:1, 38–39; 1 Corinthians 1:4–8; 1 Peter 1:4–5
We also believe that the freedom we have in Christ is never a license to live according to the sinful nature. Instead, our salvation should lead us to a life of holiness and obedience.
Scripture: Romans 13:13–14; Galatians 5:13
The Church
We believe that the word church, as used in the Bible, has two meanings. First, it refers to the universal body of all believers in Jesus Christ. Second, it refers to local congregations of believers gathered together for worship, fellowship, discipleship, and ministry.
A local church should consist of born-again believers and has the biblical responsibility to observe the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The local church is God’s chosen instrument for carrying out His mission on earth.
Scripture: Ephesians 1:22–23; 5:25–27; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Matthew 28:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
Satan
We believe that Satan is a real personal being, the author of sin, and the declared enemy of God and humanity. He is the ruler of this present world system, but his ultimate destiny is eternal judgment in the lake of fire.
Scripture: Isaiah 14:12–17; Matthew 4:2–11; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:11–15
Future Events
We believe that the events of the last days will unfold in the following order:
- Christ will first come to gather His Church to Himself (the Rapture).
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 - While the Church worships Christ in heaven (Revelation 4–5), the earth will experience a period of approximately seven years of tribulation during which God’s judgment will be poured out upon the world.
Scripture: Revelation 6:1–19:11 - At the end of this seven-year period, Jesus Christ will return visibly to the earth to establish His thousand-year kingdom.
Scripture: Revelation 19:11–20:10 - After the Millennium, the final judgment of all unbelievers will take place.
Scripture: Revelation 20:11–15 - Finally, God will establish the new heaven, the new earth, and the New Jerusalem, where His people will live with Him forever in perfect peace, joy, and fellowship.
Scripture: Revelation 21–22
